BONTOC, Mountain Province – A 33-year old policeman was hurt after he was stabbed on the neck by one of two suspicious-looking individuals whom he reminded to go hom at Caluttit here Friday dawn
Senior Superintendent Cornelio Comila, officer-in-charge of the Mountain Province Police Office, identified the victim as PO3 Steven Ballada Masweng, 33, married,a member of the Bontoc Municipal Police Station and a resident of Caluttit, Bontoc Mountain Province.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was on his way home after his tour of duty when he reminded two suspicious-looking individuals along the way to go home.
Instead of heeding his request, one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the policeman on his neck before fleeing towards an unknown direction while concerned citizens rushed the victim to the Bontoc General Hospital (BGH) for medical treatment.
The suspects are now the subject of a manhunt operation by combined police operatives in the area in order for them to face the charges against them.
