TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A 34-year old employee of a local finance corporation was wounded after he was fired upon by two still unidentified gun-wielding suspects while travelling along the Tabuk City-Pinukpuk road, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Victor Wanchakan, officer-in-charge of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the wounded individual as Michael Mallagay Gonayon, 34, crew at Micro Finance Corporation, married and a resident of Dilag, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was driving his motorcycle en route to barangay Masablang to collect when upon reaching the place of incident, two still unidentified gun-wielding suspects suddenly came out from the grassy portion and fired at him several times using alleged long firearms.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment and was subsequently confined for further observation while the suspects were able to flee towards an undisclosed direction.
