TABUK CITY, Kalinga- City Councilor Glen Amla proposed the construction of a “One-stop shop” automated teller machine (ATM) booth inside the city hall compound which was approved by Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero.
According to Councilor Amla, he is a regular client of Landbank Tabuk situated in barangay Bulanao and has witnessed the long queues of people mostly 4Ps beneficiaries and senior citizens at the Landbank ATM machines.
“Ka kaasi dagiti tatao nga pumilpila uray nu permi piman ti pudot ken nu daduma na ket maabutan da pay iti tudo. Napadasen tayo met pumila ket nag rigat karkaro nu senior citizens da ken ada daduma, awit da pay dagiti babasit nga annak da,” Amla said.
He thought of having another Landbank ATM booth in Brgy. Dagupan to decongest Landbank-Tabuk especially during pay outs of 4Ps beneficiaries and senior citizens. This proposal, he said, will provide ATM access to those coming from Brgy. Magsaysay all the way to barangay Balong and other adjacent barangays.
He presented his proposal to the Manager of Landbank Tabuk and the bank readily agreed. Amla presented the same proposal to Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero who agreed wholeheartedly saying this move will be a great help to the people as it will bring the service closer to most of them.
Today, July 20, 2021, Mayor Estrañero and Councilor Amla did a site inspection at the city hall compound to look for the most suitable area for the installation of the ATM Booth.
After finding a site both agreed to be the best location, they decided to request other banks like Metrobank and Philippine National Bank (PNB) to likewise install their ATM Machines in the area to provide for a “one-stop shop” for ATM machines inside the city hall compound.
Councilor Amla will be filing a resolution in the next session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod to allow other banks to install their ATM machines at the designated area inside the city hall compound.
