BANGUED, Abra – A 30-year old businessman who is listed as a drug personality in La Paz town died after he was gunned down by two still unidentified motorcycle-riding armed men while travelling along the Calaba Bridge, here, Tuesday.
Abra police officials identified the fatality as Esperdion Alcantara Blaza Jr., 30, married, businessman and a resident of Barangay Mudeng, La Paz. Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was on board his motorcycle bound for the capital town when he was fired upon by still unidentified motorcycle-riding armed men upon approaching the Calaba bridge here.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SoCO) team recovered from the crime scene five spent shells of a caliber .45 pistol used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime while the suspects are now the subject of a manhunt operation to ascertain the motive behind the shooting incident.
