BUGUIAS, Benguet– Still undetermined number of heavily armed men belonging to the New Peoples Army (NPA) harassed and robbed the Community Police Assistance Center of the Buguias Municipal Police Station at Loo, here, Tuesday night.
Chief Inspector Peter Dapliyan, chief of the Buguias Municipal Police Station, said the NPAs were able to cart away the .9mm calibre service firearm of the police officer on duty at the time of the harassment and the P2,400 cash supposed to be used by the members of the barangay peacekeeping action team (BPAT) to buy their cooking gas which was place inside the drawers in one of the tables inside the said outpost.
Initial police investigation showed the armed rebels were on board a van when they suddenly stopped in front of the outpost and immediately disarmed the police officer on duty and allegedly tried to look for other items to cart away.
After a few moments, the rebels boarded their getaway vehicle and proceeded towards Tinoc, Ifugao.
Members of the Buguias Municipal Police Station and the Benguet Provincial Public Safety Company, in coordination with the military, are now conducting a hot pursuit operation against the fleeing rebels.
