BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Municipality of Bontoc is a grateful recipient of medicines from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Branch Head Evello Andy Tamario and Social Worker Officer I Philip Patcheco of PCSO- Mountain Province handed over 75 boxes of Cetirizine Dihydrochloride, 75 boxes of Paracetamol, and 70 boxes of Ascorbic Acid to the Municipal Health Office (MHO) on December 14, 2021, at the Mayor’s Office of the Bontoc Municipal Capitol.
With the limited resources of the Bontoc LGU, Mayor Franklin Odsey who is also the Chairperson of the Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force (MIATF) requested the PCSO if it is possible for the latter to provide medicines and other medical supplies to be used by the Bontoc LGU in its COVID-19 response.
Mayor Odsey expressed his gratitude to the PCSO for its immediate response adding that the donation came in timely as the medicines will be used in the on-going vaccination program in the municipality.
“On behalf of the people and officialdom of Bontoc, I thank the PCSO-MP for their positive response. These supplies would be of great help in our fight against this virus,” he added.
Likewise, Odsey urged the public who are not yet inoculated to get their jabs.
“Let us celebrate Christmas at ease by getting vaccinated. Getting inoculated is not only protecting us and our loved ones from the deadly virus but also our contribution to the overall health of our community,” the mayor remarked.
Meanwhile, Nurse II Jessica Patingan and Nurse I Aracelle Aguilba of the MHO received the donation on behalf of Mayor Odsey and Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Diga Kay Gomez who are both on other equally important activities they need to attend. By Christy Mae F. Che-es & Alpine L. Killa
