TABUK CITY, Kalinga May 09 – A 13-year old teenager died after he reportedly drowned in a portion of the Chico river when he tried to swim in the area at barangay Locog, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Brent Majaco, provincial director of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Jayson Lardizabal Lazarcon, 13, and resident of Barangay Lucog, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation that the victim and his younger brother went to play at the river bank when he allegedly decided to swim but he was carried away by the strong water current.
The victim was rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
