TAYUM, Abra – A 51-year old tricycle driver died after he was stabbed twice on the chest by his younger brother during a heated altercation that transpired in a wake at Turdo, Deet, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the victim as Fredolino Tacanay Bacor, 51, male, married, tricycle driver while the suspect who is his younger brother was named as Leonardo Tacanay Bacor, 42, married, tricycle driver and both residents of Turod, Deet, Tayum, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the duo went to attend a wake in their place when the suspect confronted the victim that escalated into a heated argument between them.
At this juncture, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim twice on his chest and he was rushed by concerned citizens to the St. James hospital in Bangued but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to fatal stab wounds on his chest.
The suspect, who immediately fled after the incident, was arrested by responding police operatives in the house of his brother-in-law and seized from his possession was the 16-inch knife which he used in the perpetration of the crime.
Probers are still establishing the motive that resulted to the fatal stabbing incident.
