FLORA, Apayao May 21 – A 49-year old bus conductor was injured after he was allegedly stabbed by a bus driver during a heated altercation in a bus terminal along Camia St., Poblacion East, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Gregorio Durante, 49, married, conductor of Chona Patrick Bus, and resident of Pamplona Cagayan while the suspect was named as Jojie Domingo Sacro, 30, married, driver/conductor of Chona Patrick Bus, and resident of Barangay 28, Morayta Street, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim, together with fellow bus conductors and drivers, were having a drinking session inside a bus terminal in the place of incident when the suspect and a companion arrived and joined them.
After a few moments, a heated altercation erupted between the victim and the suspect that escalated into a commotion.
At this juncture, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with the use of a broken bottle of beer that caused him to suffer from multiple injuries.
The victim was rushed by responding police operatives to the Flora District Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested and now detained in the Flora Municipal Police Station for the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
