CALANASAN, Apayao – The municipal government through the leadership of Mayor Shamir M. Bulut held their grand homecoming to celebrate the coming of Dayag ti Apayao Queens to their hometown.
The occasion was done on March 18, 2024 at Poblacion, Calanasan, Apayao with Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. and Lone District Representative Leah Bulut-Begtang giving inspirational messages, emphasizing the importance of the youth, role models and doing what is good for the future generations.
Simultaneous with this reunion, the Dayag-Lei Project was introduced, bringing in the participation of local and provincial authorities together with local supporters.
Atty. Ofe Marie L. Balalio-Lumbo, Dayag ti Apayao 2010, Atty. Maria Elena Teresa E. Ravelo, Dayag ti Apayao 2011, and Lei Gertrude Avryl B. Ravelo, Dayag ti Apayao 2024, shared their experiences on their respective reigns and contributions to Apayao. Their stories ranged from unforgettable crowning moments to influential projects they spearheaded, which struck a chord with the audience.
Despite being unable to attend the memorable homecoming, Jacklyn Ablan Ogay, Dayag ti Apayao 1998, and Dr. Olibella Balalio-Tubban, Dayag ti Apayao 2008, conveyed their best wishes to all people present.
Leomar B. Alayao, the first Taer ti Calanasan, was also recognized and delivered a message in which he expressed thanks to Calanasan officials and people for entrusting him with representing the municipality in the Search for Taer ken Dayag ti Apayao 2024.
Furthermore, the Dynamic Advocacy for Youth Advancement, Growth, Leadership, and Empowerment by means of Innovative EKB Approaches, or “Dayag-Lei” Project, is a province-wide project to promote youth development and empowerment. The Dayag-Lei Project strives to provide young people with the tools and resources they need to succeed in a variety of areas of life.
This approach recognizes the value of not only traditional education, but also the development of practical skills and knowledge that can enable young people to make constructive contributions to their communities and society as a whole.
