PARACELIS, Mountain Province – The provincial government partnered with the Paracelis Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and the Schools Division of Mountain Province of the Department of Education (DepEd) to conduct a capacity development seminar for child development workers (CDW) in Paracelis from May 3-4, 2023.
The objective of the activity was to equip CDWs to better implement formal education for day care children in response to the national government’s updated and improved education system.
The activity was funded by the Special Education Fund of the provincial government, and according to Community Affairs Officer Maria Nelda Lo, Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. is committed to integrating more approaches to education implementers in the province. Lo added that an integrated approach to ecological solid waste management is a way to develop values, while mental health awareness is essential in combating poor self-esteem.
During the seminar, NGO President Eliza A. Benafin discussed effective teaching strategies for daycare students, while speakers from DepEd Youth Development Focal, SDO-Mountain Province, and MPENRO Environmental Management Specialist talked about mental health awareness and solid waste management, respectively.
