Senator Alan Peter Cayetano continues to provide assistance to Filipinos in need, recently reaching out to hundreds of people from different sectors in Quezon Province on October 10-11, 2023.
On Tuesday, Cayetano’s office, in cooperation with Mayor Aris Aguirre and Vice Mayor Jay E. Castilla, organized an all-day event aimed at uplifting the lives of more than 200 residents of the Municipality of Mulanay.
One of the beneficiaries was Richard Untalan, a person with a disability who faces unique challenges when it comes to seeking employment.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako kay Senator Alan Cayetano. Gagamitin ko po ito sa pagbili at mag-aalaga po ako ng biik para may pagkukunan ako [ng pera] ‘pag nangailangan,” he said.
Sadelyn Iduse, a public school teacher and nursing mother, also expressed her gratitude, saying she was not expecting to benefit from the Senator’s aid.
“Hindi ko po ito inaasahan pero dahil mayroon tayong senador na tumitingin sa aming mga guro kaya naman po kami [ay] nagpapasalamat,” she said.
Cayetano’s team visited Lucena City the following day to reach more people in the province. In joint action with City Mayor Mark Alcala and Vice Mayor Roderick Alcala, much needed assistance was provided to the beneficiaries to help them recover from the pandemic.
The two-day outreach visits were made possible through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis (AICS) program of the Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD).
The activities were part of Cayetano’s ongoing efforts to collaborate with government agencies and local government units to reach more marginalized and vulnerable sectors in the country.
Before visiting Quezon, his office also extended its Tulong-Medikal and AICS programs to the provinces of Maguindanao del Norte and Cavite.
