City officials recently requested the City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO) to submit to the local legislative body the results of the organizational development study in preparation for the organizational set-up to be contained in the 2024 annual budget of the city government.
Under Resolution No. 434, series of 2023, local legislators stated that the 2024 annual budget of the city government is currently being prepared and it is very important to incorporate the organizational development study’s proposed organizational set up and changes in the annual budget to align with the city’s goals and objectives.
Earlier, the local government, through the CHRMO, has commissioned an organizational development study to assess the current organizational set up and identify areas for improvement that will be implemented next year.
The council claimed that the findings and recommendations of the ongoing organizational development study are vital in ensuring a streamlined and efficient organizational structure for the city government to sustain the effective and efficient delivery of services to the people.
According to the body, it is also important for the members of the local legislative body to be fully aware and updated on the results of the ongoing organizational development study so that they will be guided in their actions once the proposed 2024 annual budget of the local government will be submitted to the council for deliberation and eventual approval.
Under the pertinent provisions of the Local Government Code, the local chief executive shall submit to the local legislative body the proposed annual budget of the local government every October 16 for deliberation and approval before the end of the year in time for its implementation in the upcoming fiscal year.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the CHRMO for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action.
