LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The provincial government, led by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas, continues its commitment to support indigent residents through the Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
During the second quarter of this year, a total of 637 individuals from various municipalities have received financial aid amounting to P5.3 million for medical and burial expenses.
On June 13, at the Provincial Capitol, a batch of 214 beneficiaries were the latest recipients to receive cash assistance amounting to P2.4 million. This initiative was spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (OPSWD) headed by Acting PSWDO Melba Moltio. The program aims to aid families facing financial challenges in times of crisis.
Moltio thanked the Governor for his initiative to increase the cash aid for individuals undergoing dialysis, chemotherapy, and heart operations.
The collaboration between the provincial government and the Office of Congressman Eric Yap has also been helpful in ensuring the provision of assistance to more indigent individuals.
In another distribution, on May 22, 150 individuals were provided financial assistance totaling P1,460,000.00 at the Provincial Capitol, and at least 87 individuals on May 8, amounting to P765,000.00.
Individuals who want to avail of the program are encouraged to inquire from their respective Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDOs) or from the Provincial SWDO. By MP Press Release
