ITOGON, Benguet – At least 43 former graduates from Laurencio Fianza Memorial National High School (LFMNHS) of this barangay who are now enrolled in different colleges in universities in Baguio and Benguet were chosen recipients of scholarship grant worth P1,675,966.36 in all from the Philex Mining Corporation.
According to data furnished the school, those who enrolled at Benguet State University (BSU) were given a semestral allowance of P10,000 each while those who enrolled in private universities and colleges were entitled for 75% of their tuition fees per semester. Two students who enrolled in technical-vocational courses were provided with P50,000 each to finance their schooling needs.
The following are the breakdown of scholarship recipients from Dalupirip with their corresponding schools: BSU- 15; University of the Cordilleras-6; Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC)- 6; Kings College of the Philippines- 4; University of Baguio-4; Saint Louis University-2; Pines City Colleges-1; Baguio Central University-1; BSBT-1; and Data Center-1.
Meanwhile, 35 junior high school students and 25 Senior High School students of LFMNHS were chosen as beneficiaries for monthly allowance of P350 each and P500 monthly stipend each respectively from the mining company during this School Year.
The total amount of stipend this SY for JHS is P122,500 while the total stipends for SHS learners amounted to P187,500. By Cristina B. Ayangdan
