LA TRINIDAD, Benguet- Pursuant to Division Memo no. 284 s. 2018, Benguet Learning Resource Team conducted Development, Redevelopment, Digitization Cum Quality Assurance Learning Resources at Calajo Restaurant, La Trinidad, Benguet on November 14-16.
Antoinette D. Sacyang, Project Development Officer welcomed and oriented the participants about the three-day activity as well as the roles of the members of the quality assurance team and illustrators.
Meanwhile, Sonia D. Dupagan, the Education program Supervisor for Learning Resources discussed the different parts of the different learning resources such as big book, small book and strategic intervention material. Dupagan also reminded the participants about the Dos and Don’ts of crafting each learning resource materials.
Melvin L. Alfredo on the other hand, reiterated the Intellectual property Rights and deliberated some IPR tools. Alfredo ended his part by restating, “Only the expression of an idea is protected by copyright, not the idea itself”.
Moreover, Edwin C. Pagoy, National Illustrator demonstrated the use of Paint Tool SAI in sketching and coloring while Meriam C. Antolin, Benguet Division illustrator demonstrated the use of Adobe Photoshop in coloring.
Further, members of the quality assurance team have checked and commented on the teacher-made learning materials while illustrators chose quality assured materials to sketch and color using the said applications.
Dupagan ended the training-workshop by stressing the importance of School Learning Resource Center. “SLRC or library is the heart of a learning institution.” “Institutionalizing reading corners could address the problem that most Filipinos are not into reading”, she added. Dupagan also bared activities for the illustrators in the coming months.
