PIDIGAN, Abra November 26 – A man and his son died after the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a tree on the side of the road at barangay Naguirayan, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the fatalities as Randolf Batin Pigao with his son Ranzel Pigaao, 15, and both residents of Banaoang Bantay, Ilocos Sur
Initial police investigation showed that the father and son were on board a motorcycle that was revelling in the place of incident at full speed while negotiating a sharp curve when the older victim, the driver of the motorcycle, allegedly lost control of the same causing it to ram into the tree on the side of the road.
Because of the strong impact of the collision, the two victims were thrown off the motorcycle and banged their bodies on the concrete pavement that resulted to their sustaining multiple head and body injuries.
Concerned residents and responding personnel of the Pidigan Municipal Police Station immediately rushed the victims to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but they were pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple head and body injuries.
Probers theorized that the motorcycle driver might have miscalculated the navigation of the sharp curve that caused him to lose control of the motorcycle bar that resulted to the occurrence of the incident that claimed his life and the life of his young son.
