The employer of the suspects charged of attempting to kidnap an 11-year old boy is crying foul over the attempted kidnapping charges on three of its employees citing conditions that cast doubts on their ability to commit the crime.
Nicole Beatriz Praferosa, speaking on behalf of the transportation company employer of John Rey Pedrosa, Michael Perilla, and Ronald Melanis, sent messages to the Herald Express saying the three could not have likely committed the act, citing their good behavior, unfamiliarity of the critical place, and mistaken identity as reasons.
Pedrosa, Perilla, and Melanis were accused of attempting to kidnap the grade 6 pupil of Balinciagao Elementary School in Balinciagao Norte, Pasil, Kalinga.

Praferosa said the three have been working for them for five years now and did not commit any violations during that time. “In fact they are one of awardees as best employees in another company”, she said.
“I know how good they are. One of our barracks is near our house and they are never a problem to our place. People know them as hardworking ones”, she stressed.
She also said it is unlikely that the three will commit the crime because they were unfamiliar with the place. She cited that the three were actually lost in a different route just before the supposed time they committed the crime based on their tracking of the company vehicle via GPS.
Praferosa said aside from being outsiders to the place, they were warned about it being a critical zone. “Tingin mo ba dyan pa talaga nila gagawin yung binibintang sa kanila?”, she asked.
She also pointed out that while there might be an attempted kidnapping incident, their three employees could be a victim of mistaken identity.
“They are working hard decently to feed their families and never commit any crime.”, she said.
The three suspects were in Kalinga as a delivery team for a logistics company of equipment for a cell site.
