LUNA, Apayao – The number of families affected by Super Typhoon Egay in the province based on 8AM July 28, 2023 data by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) has now risen to 1,774 from 6,291 individuals from the 924 families reported early Thursday.
1,148 of said families, according to Apayao PSWDO, are in evacuation areas or private houses with all already served with relief aid and other basic needs items.
The worst affected municipality is Luna with 410 families displaced, the least affected is Sta. Marcela with 104. Flora, meanwhile, recorded 405 families; Pudtol, 337; Calanasan, 233; and Conner, 174.
Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., in an interview, said the provincial government is doing all it can to reach all yApayaos afflicted by the typhoon and that his request for aid and relief assistance have been positively responded to, adding that some have already arrived and distributed alongside those provided by the municipal governments.
“Nu masapul nga chopper ti usaren tapno maidanun tayo ti tulong, we will do it. I told our officers and officials to prepare and ready the transport of aid to areas isolated by the typhoon,” said the governor. By PG of Apayao
