BUGUIAS, Benguet January 10 – A 49-year old farmer was arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents based on a warrant for alleged carnapping in his residence at Cotcot, Bangao, here, Monday.
Chief Inspector Peter Dapliyan, chief of the Buguias Municipal Police Station, identified the arrested individual as Roben Liwas Acosta, 49, married, farmer and a resident of Cotcot, Banagao, Buguias, Benguet.
He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Luis Daoen of the Municipal Trial Court (MTC0 of Bontoc for violation of Section 12 of Republic Act (RA) 6539 or the Anti-Carnapping Law with an undisclosed bail bond for his temporary liberty.
The arrested individual was brought to the Buguias Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to his turnover to the issuing court for the proper disposal of the case filed against him.
