SANTA MARCELA, Apayao – A 33-year old farmer died while fishing on February 15, 2018 at Brgy. Emiliana, here.
According to the PD of the Apayao Provincial Police Office, the body of Christopher Arizo Siloran, a resident of Brgy. Malekkeg, Sta. Marcela, Apayao, was retrieved from a fish pond after he failed to show up from a fishing trip.
Ritchel Rey Siloran, the victim’s cousin, narrated that the victim went fishing at Brgy. Emiliana and took with him his fishing paraphernalia.
After failing to come home, his cousin reported him missing since the morning of February 15.
Immediately, personnel of Santa Marcela Municipal Police Station, together with the personnel of Bureau of Fire Protection, Sta. Marcela and some residents of Brgys. Malekkeg and Emiliana of Santa Marcela, Apayao conducted search and rescue operation.
They located the body of the missing farmer at around 11 AM of February 16, in a fishpond located at Brgy. Emiliana.
The body of the victim was immediately brought to Sta. Marcela District Hospital for examination where no injury to the victim’s body was found and initial findings showed that the cause of death was drowning.
The body of the victim was brought home by his mother to be given a decent wake and burial.
