LUNA, Apayao January 11 – A 37-year old farmer died after he drowned while catching fish in a creek at barangay Lappa, here, Tuesday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Arsenio Uddipa Ruega, 37, married, farmer and a resident of barangay Lappa, Luna, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim, who was reportedly under the influence of liquor, decided to go to catch fish in a creek nearby.
However, he was not able to come home after over a night of catching fish that prompted his worried wife to go and look for him in the vicinity of the creek.
To her surprise, his wife found the victim’s lifeless body floating on the box culvert near the creek.
He was rushed to a local hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to alleged drowning and that there were no signs of external injuries on the victim’s body.
