BAGUIO CITY — The fourth year marking of North Hobby brought the energy of Manila’s pop culture convention to Baguio City in keeping a weekend of excitement and fun powered by Toycon Philippines.
The exhibition was conducted from October 6 to 8 at the Baguio Country Club participated by toy enthusiasts, cosplayers, gamers, hobbyists, and visitors. It provided attendees with opportunities to engage with some of the toy designers, artists, and collectors which also served as a platform for them to showcase and sell their work.
There were several activities, including a remote-controlled car competition where competitors displayed their dexterity and speed. In addition, a space for tabletop games and seminars and an exhibit room all added to the excitement of the guests. A cosplay competition, where participants brought fiction dressed as various characters from anime shows, video games, and live action series, was another feature of the event.
Meanwhile, one unique attendees of the exhibition was the appearance of a family with ‘My Hero Academia’ inspired costumes who also competed in the cosplay. “Isang pamilya kami, kasama ko manugang ko, anak ko,” said Lolo Jose Librand, who cosplayed as Gran Torino in an interview.
The whole event served as a setting for fans and enthusiasts to share their passions, hobbies, and explore rare collectibles. The event also completed with great exclusives, giveaways, and exciting prizes for participants.There were also booths, where attendees could buy various merchandise of their favorite anime and games.
