CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PROCOR) recognized all outstanding police officers, units and stakeholders during the 23rd Police Community Relations (PCR) Month’s culminating program held at Camp Major Bado Dangwa last Monday, July 30, 2018.
The awarding ceremony was held in recognition of the exceptional contributions of the awardees that led to the attainment of the plans, programs and activities of the Regional Police Community Relation Division-Cordillera and that of the PNP-Cordillera as a whole. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Tapat na Serbisyo at Paglilingkod ng Kapulisan Kaagapay ang Mamamayan Hatid ay Kaunlaran,”
Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. was the lone Governor-awardee under the Stakeholder Category, giving credit to his valuable support to the plans, programs, office and logistical requirements of Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (PPO) which significantly contributed to the police’s efficient services to its internal and external clients, consequently improving the peace and order situation in the province.
Police-awardees from Mountain Province were PSupt. Jomarick B. Felina as Outstanding PCR Senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) of the Year and PO2 Gabriel A. Potpoten as Outstanding PCR Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO) of the Year.
“The officialdom of Mountain Province will continue to be supportive of the PNP’s projects, programs and activities and will strive to sustain if not improve on the assistance that we have been giving through the years,” Gov. Lacwasan said.
According to Gov. Lacwasan, the provincial government has included in its 2018 budget, the aid to peace and order programs that covers assistance to the Peace and Order Council, Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council and to the PNP entity itself.
Meanwhile, Baguio Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan, Guest of Honor and Speaker, commended the headship of the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Cordillera, as well as the commitment exemplified by the PNP as a whole, in the discharge of their duties/ responsibilities.
Mayor Domogan also underscored the coordination and collaboration that must exist between the PNP and local government units to ensure the sustainability of programs of the PNP especially in the smallest units- the barangays. According to him, the most effective leader is one who is not only acquainted and knowledgeable of his place of assignment; but also, he/ she must have deep awareness of the traits of the people he/ she serves.
Moreover, Mayor Domogan assured the PNP of his office’s support to the latter’s undertakings as signified by the continuous assistance the city government gives to the PNP.
Other awardees under the Individual Award Category were: PCI Ramon B. Espiritu, Jr., Abra PPO as Outstanding PCR Junior PCO of the Year and SPO4 Rogelio T. Limbawan of La Trinidad Municipal Police Station (MPS) as Outstanding PCR Senior PNCO of the Year.
For the Unit Awardees, Benguet PPO was awarded as Outstanding PPO; Baguio City Police Office as outstanding City Police Office; Station Six – Baguio City Police Office as Outstanding City Police Station; and La Trinidad Municipal Police Station as Outstanding Municipal Police Station.
Other stakeholder awardees include: Mr. Reinaldo A. Bautista Jr. – RHQ Chairman, Regional Advisory Council; Rev. Francisco Sanchez- Abra PPO, Chapter Head, Bangued Evangelical Church; Hon. Rodolfo B. Juan-Apayao PPO, Mayor, Flora, Apayao; Mr. Tarcicius S. Mero – BCPO, Boxing Trainor and Referee; Dr. Higinio Clyde Abellanosa – Benguet PPO, Member, La Trinidad Municipal Advisory Council; Ifugao Provincial Advisory Council – Ifugao PPO; and Engr.
