A security guard shot and killed an unruly customer who threatened to attack other customers with a bolo.
The incident happened at around 2:30 AM of August 18, 2018 at a convenience store in Km 6, Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The victim was identified as John Paul Sallaya while the suspect was identified as Mark Vergil Nabarette Pajarillo, 22 years old, single, security guard, a native and resident at Brent Road, Teachers Camp, Baguio City.
Investigation disclosed that the victim together with one male companion went to the convenience store and bought one bottle of beer. The victim then broke the beer bottle in front of the said establishment that caused trouble to the costumers thereat.
The suspect, who is the on duty security guard of the said establishment, tried to pacify the two male persons and advised them to go home.
After a few minutes, the victim, together with his companion, returned with a bolo and again created trouble in the establishment. The victim is about to hit some customers with the use of the bolo that prompted the suspect to drew his issued firearm and shot the victim.
Responding personnel of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station brought the victim to the Benguet General Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The suspect voluntary surrendered to the responding police officers. The case is for follow up investigation.
