Another pleasure-filled yet thrill and ecstasy loaded run is up in Itogon, Benguet this June 18, 2017.
Render Farm Sports is presenting the maiden staging of the Itogon 50K Challenge in the unpolluted, long and winding, uphill and downhill path of this town.
Philip Pacle, the Race Director, described the race path as “with lots of trees that will shelter a runner from the morning sun, encircled with fresh air and the tweeting of birds”. “[Runners] will be mesmerized by the sights of the Binga Dam and the natural setting of terraces and mountains”, he said.
“There are no trails in this run, just sandy and cemented road where there are only a few houses. There is no chance of getting lost in this out and back course. Runners will surely love this race as a beautiful reminder of a participant’s running career.” he continued.
Participants are expected to assemble at the Melvin Jones Grandstand from. 12:00 midnight to 1:00 AM on race day. They will then be transported to the Municipal hall of Itogon, Benguet, where the starting and finishing points are located. Gunstart is set at 3:00 AM for this no cut-off time race.
Runners are advised to bring along head lamp, hydration belt, reflectorized vest or sticker, and first aid kit.
Registration is still open until June 5, 2017. Interested runners may www.facebook.com/philip.pacle or at https://renderfarmsports.wixsite.com/50k-itogon for details of this event.
