TUBA, Benguet – A 28-year old housewife died after she was stabbed twenty eight times by her own husband due to an altercation that erupted between them inside their residence at Marville Homes, Tadiangan, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Jaykie Parilla Reyes, 28, married, housekeeper, native of Miridan, Leyte while the suspect was named as her own husband Mark Angelo Felix Reyes, 29, structural fitter, native of Lingayen, Pangasinan, both residents of Marville Homes, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the spouses had an alleged altercation because the suspect alleged that his wife had a lame text mate.
The heated altercation worsened after the victim allegedly denied the suspect’s claim that prompted him to be allegedly depressed, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her many times on the different parts of her body until she was sprawled bloodied on the pavement of their house.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to responding police operatives and barangay tanods who responded in the area and is now detained at the Tuba Municipal Police Station awaiting the filing of charges against him.
