MANKAYAN, Benguet – Lepanto NHS alumni raise 185,000.00 for the construction of alumni building to be used as additional classrooms, during the golf for a cause on October 6-7 at Lepanto golf course, Mankayan, Benguet.
The association through its president Atty. Lionel Wanawan organized the event with 23 participants consisting of alumni and non-alumni players.
“We decided to give all the net proceeds of the tournament for the construction of the LNHS alumni building for additional classrooms and it is a dream of the group to have an office inside the school campus where we can hold meetings, save and revisit memories,” Atty. Wanawan said.
Alban Ariel Ayugat, “The agila” was awarded overall tournament champion. Jung Ambasing clinched the first place in class A category followed by Dever Codim-o second and Winnie Bautista, third. In the class B category, Raman Alimba copped the first with Joseph Paleyan, second and Aldrin Camiling, third, the class C was topped by Agustin Mendoza followed by Rafael Palasi and David Capuyan settled third.
Special awards were also given to Joseph Paleyan, Nearest to the pin, Ariel Ayugat, The Most Accurate Drive and Agustin Mendoza, The Largest Drive.
All the winners received trophies.
Moreover, raffle draw was enjoyed by the participants.
Atty. Wanawan said that this is the second time the association conducted a golf for a cause for the school. In October 2022 they raised 150,000.00 for the construction of the BESA building.
“We’re thankful to the different sponsors for us to raise the amount, let us continue cooperating for the development of Lepanto National High School” he added.
Meanwhile, they are planning to conduct the third golf tournament for a cause next year. By Richie Vonn Espada
