TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A 42-year old man was injured after he was stabbed by a knife-wielding neighbour in front of their boarding house at Hilltop, Purok 6, Bulanao, here, Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent Brent Majaco, provincial director of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Agosto Bulawit Taya-an, 42, while he named the suspect as Reymund Baloran Colid, 40,both residents of Hilltop, Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed the victim went out of his boarding house to smoke while the suspect was having a drinking session with his companions at the rooftop of their house.
At this juncture, the suspect suddenly came down from the rooftop and started uttering unsavoury words to the victim’s children that resulted to a heated altercation between the duo to the extent that the victim punched the suspect.
The suspect then went to his motorcycle, took a knife and stabbed him several times on his forehead and his back.
The victim’s relatives rushed him to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while the fleeling suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and is now detained at the Tabuk city Police Office awaiting for the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
