ITOGON, Benguet – A 35-year old man was injured after he attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself on a guava tree within their compound at Tower 5, Baloy, Tinongdan, here, Wednesday.
Chief Inspector Eugene Raymundo, chief of the Itogon Municipal Police Station, identified the victim as Jonathan Hipolito Picardo, 35, and a resident of Tower 5, Baloy, Tinongdan, Itogon, Benguet..
Initial police investigation showed that the victim attempted to ask his son to get guavas but the latter refused, thus, he was the one that came out of their house.
After a few minutes, his mother went out of their house and was surprised to see him hanging on the guava tree with a rope tied around his neck.
Relatives and family members aided each other in bringing the victim down from the guava tree and was rushed to the Itogon District hospital before being referred to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) where he is still unconscious.
