LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 39-year old man died after he was bumped by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) along the Halsema Highway, particularly at Km. 6, Betag, here, Sunday dawn.
Police authorities identified the hit and run victim as Denver Alejandro Quispay, 39, native of Balacbac, Kapangan, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was reportedly crossing the national highway when a speeding Mitsubishi Montero allegedly bumped him that caused him to be thrown several meters away from the place of incident resulting to the various injuries inflicted on the different parts of his body.
Witnesses and personnel of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station immediately rushed the victim to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to fatal injuries on the different parts of his body.
Probers are now conducting an indepth followup investigation to ascertain the driver of the speeding SUV for him to answer for the crime that he committed.
