TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Mayor Darwin Estrañero has issued Executive Order (EO) No. 15, Series of 2024, reconstituting and reorganizing the membership of the City Development Council (CDC) under Republic Act No. 7160, also known as the Local Government Code of 1991.
Signed by Estrañero on April 2, 2024, the EO cites the need to reorganize the council due to recent developments in the city government and changes in leadership within sectoral representations.
The CDC serves as an advisory body to the local chief executive and the local legislative body, guiding economic and social direction while coordinating development efforts within the city.
During today’s conference, the reorganized council members were discussed. The new order is chaired by Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero, co-chaired by Hon. Castor G. Cayaba from the SP Committee on Finance and Appropriations, alongside Vice Chairperson Hon. Kristian B. Wandag from the SP Committee on Research, Planning, and Development, and members composed of ABC President Alejandro L. Cos-agon, with the Forty-Three (43) Punong barangays of Tabuk City.
Sectoral committees will comprise legislative officials and city government department heads overseeing administrative governance, social services, economic services, environmental management, and infrastructure development.
The council also identifies projects and programs to be included in the Annual Budget under the Annual Investment Plan for 2025.
As per the new EO, the council will meet at least once every six months or as needed to ensure the smooth flow of social and economic progress in the city. By Ruth Cupang
