TINOC, Ifugao – The town’s vice mayor who was earlier reported to have been missing reportedly surfaced in their residence late Wednesday afternoon.
In a post in the social media, the daughter of first term Vice Mayor Fernando Gapuz revealed that her father arrived home in their residence in barangay Impugong safe and sound late Wednesday afternoon.
However, the relatives of Gapuz failed to divulge any details on the circumstances that caused the municipal official to have gone missing for at least 5 days.
Even police authorities are still facing a blank wall on how the vice mayor went missing and how he was able to come home safe and sound.
Earlier, vice mayor was reported to have gone missing in the afternoon of July 19, 2019 after he reportedly went to Buguias, Benguet on official business.
He was seen to have gone towards Mankayan, Benguet after alighting from the bus that he boarded from the town proper.
Gapuz reportedly went home in the afternoon of the same day and alighted in barangay Impugong where his wife was teaching and that he was reported missing since then.
The Gapuz family has yet to issue an official statement on the circumstances that caused him to go missing for at least 5 days that resulted to the conduct of search and rescue operations by combined police operatives and emergency responders from the different neighboring municipalities.
The Gapuz family expressed their gratitude to the combined police operatives, emergency responders and volunteers and concerned citizens who showed their concern in locating the whereabouts of the missing official until he was able to come home.
