LUNA, Apayao – A 28-year old Negrito labourer was hurt after he was stabbed by a fellow Negrito inside a store at Tumog here recently.
Senior Superintendent Felix Dayag, officer-in-charge of the Apayao Provincial Police Station, identified the victim as Roger Gunnao Calinga, 28, married, labourer while he named the suspect as a certain Amiling, of legal age, both Negritos and temporarily residing at Tumog, Luna, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed that the suspect, together with a companion, were drinking inside a store in the place of incident when the victim arrived and joined them as he offered to the suspect that they settle their old grudge.
When the stepdaughter of the victim arrived, the suspect suddenly confronted her but the victim was able to pacify such commotion.
At this juncture, the suspect immediately brought out a bolo and stabbed the victim on his belly before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The wounded Negrito was immediately rushed to the Far North Luzon General Hospital and Training Center for medical treatment while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police operatives.
