TINGLAYAN, Kalinga December 26 – More than P42.9 million worth of dried marijuana bricks were successfully recovered and destroyed by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during an anti-drug operation at sitio Silay, barangay población, here, recently.
Initially, government forces received a tip from a concerned resident that an alleged marijuana cultivator is about to transport a huge volume of marijuana from the municipality toa still undisclosed destination.
Police authorities immediately conducted an anti-drug operation in the area and were able to discover some 358 kilos of dried marijuana bricks that were placed on several sacks stockpiled along the main road and reportedly awaiting for a vehicle to transport the same.
However, the operating troops failed to arrest the supposed marijuana cultivator who was about to transport the said contraband to an undisclosed destination outside the province.
Police operatives are still conducting any investigation to ascertain the identity of the said marijuana cultivator while the recovered marijuana bricks were brought to the Kalinga provincial forensic unit for the conduct of the appropriate testing.
