A pawnshop worker was killed when a still unidentified suspect slashed her neck after robbing the pawnshop of cash.
The victim was identified as Lindsay Vallejos Valdez, 22, sales clerk, native of Cabuloan, Urdaneta, Pangasinan, and presently residing at Purok 3, Lower Pinget, Baguio City.
Initial investigation disclosed that on or before 8:30 AM of same day, the victim opened the 202 Cellphone Pawnshop located at Nr. 19 Abanao Street, Baguio City. She had just started sweeping the floor when the suspect arrived and they dragged the victim inside.
The suspect then directed the victim to open the vault room where the auctioned laptops, cellphones, and cash were kept. The victim opened the vault room and the suspect dragged her inside. While inside the vault room, the suspect took from the victim the key of the metal cash box where the cash collections were kept.
The suspect tied victim then proceeded to open the metal cash box and took its contents.
Before leaving, the suspect slashed the neck of the victim.
Personnel of SOCO arrived at the scene where PSUPT Jaime Rodrigo Leal declared the victim dead.
The owners of the pawnshop, Julio Fernandez Parayno III and his wife, conducted inventory and averred that their cash collections amounting to Php 87,434.00 are missing.
The case is still under investigation.
