BANGUED, Abra – The annual Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTIW) 2023 launched in Bangued, Abra on September 27, highlighting technologies and innovations that aim to address problems and challenges facing the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
The three-day festivity gathers industry players, scientists, researchers, policymakers, state universities, and local government units to talk about ideas and collaborate on projects towards the attainment of inclusive development in various industry sectors through science and technology.
The event features science and technology and interactive exhibits, S&T training and forums, a robotics workshop and competition, a Startup Caravan, a Techno Bazaar, and other displays of locally developed technologies.
Host province Abra is showcasing their innovations in their bamboo industry and weaving industry, among other initiatives.
Forums on smart and sustainable communities will also be held where Tabuk City is set to present its Smart City journey.
The RSTIW 2023 opening ceremony this morning was led by Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Undersecretary for Regional Operations Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang together with DOST-Cordillera Regional Director Nancy Bantog, and Abra Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Chavit Castro who was representing Abra Governor Dominic Valera.
