LUNA, Apayao – Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” T. Go emphasized the critical role of sports in youth development as the keynote speaker during the opening program of the Cordillera Administrative Region Association of State Universities and Colleges (CARASUC) Athletic Meet 2024 held at the Apayao Eco-Tourism Sports Complex in Luna, Apayao, earlier today, on April 30, 2024.
Themed “Bidlisiw: Paghilom, Pagbangon, at Pagsulong,” Senator Bong Go, as the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Sports, delved into his legislative initiatives and highlighted the pivotal role of sports in shaping future leaders while guiding the youth towards healthier and more productive lifestyles, steering them away from vices.
“Get into sports, stay away from drugs to keep us healthy and fit – ito po ang lagi kong sinasabi sa mga kabataan, and it is a guiding principle that can lead our youth towards healthier, more fulfilling lives,” Sen. Go said in a recorded message.
Further, Sen. Go highlighted the significant progress made in enhancing sports facilities and programs in the Philippines. He also underscored the considerable advancements in enhancing sports facilities and programs nationwide.
He likewise extended his appreciation to the CARASUC Chairperson and President of Ifugao State University, Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon, as well as to the presidents and directors/coordinators of SUCs for their contributions.
