City officials recently commended and congratulated Eliz Jae F. Gastan and Han Na D. Park of the Philippine Science High School–Cordillera Administrative Region (PSHS-CAR) campus for winning the Silver Award in the World Innovative Science Project Olympiad (WISPO) 2023.
In a resolution, city legislators stated that the local government proudly recognizes and commends the outstanding achievement of the young and upcoming scientists with their research coach Frances Marie Alinio–Aniceto who are behind the innovative works of mind that contributed to further promote and sustain the city’s established identity as the education center of the north.
Earlier, the Indonesia Scientific Society (ISS) conducted the World Innovative Science Project Olympiad (WISPO) 2023 last December 14-17, 2023 in Bandung City, West Java, Indonesia.
The program aims to provide an opportunity for students from local and international education institutions to complete and exhibit their innovative ideas on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Gasatan and Park, both Grade 10 students of the PSHS-CAR campus, won the Silver Award with their research entitled ‘DYA-Sensitized Solar Panel Cell: Harnessing Sunlight Rays as Solar Energy Based on Biodegradable Media.’
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to Gasatan, Park, Aniceto and the PSHS-CAR administration for their information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
