BAGUIO CITY July 22 – A 43-year old chemical laboratory technical of the St. Louis University (SLU) was found dead by his colleagues inside the laboratory room of the Catholic-run higher education institution at around 8 am Wednesday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Ivor Salcedo Caoili, 43, a chemical laboratory technician and a resident of M. Roxas, Alfonso Tabora barangay.
Probers disclosed that his companion reportedly padlocked the laboratory room Tuesday afternoon with no person inside but when he came back Wednesday morning, he was surprised to see the victim sitting on the chair.
When he tried to wake him up, he felt that his knees were already cold that prompted him to seek the assistance of his companions and engineering students.
The victim was immediately rushed to the SLU Sacred Heart Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
Recovered from near the victim was a solution believed to have been used by him to allegedly commit suicide considering that he had no signs of external injuries when his body was found in the laboratory room.
However, the solution will still be subjected to tests while his body underwent the autopsy procedure to ascertain the cause of his death.
The victim’s wife is reportedly working in Qatar and that the couple is blessed with four children.
