PIDIGAN, Abra March 20 – An 18- year old student was injured after he was fired upon by three gun-wielding assailants while inside a parked tricycle in a wake at Banay Surong, Monggoc, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the injured individual as John Abhriel Regunton Palino, 18, student, and a resident of Immuli, Pidigan, Abra while the arrested suspects were named as B-Jay Asuncion Pascual, 23, single; Roy Asuncion Laureta, 37, married; and Nelson Asuncion Laureta, 22, single, all residents of Sitio Matedtedted, Barangay Immuli, Pidigan Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim went to attend a wake of a relative in the place of incident and while he was seated inside a parked tricycle, the suspects, who were reportedly on board a white van, suddenly fired at him hitting him on his right leg.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while the suspects were arrested by responding police operatives and are now temporarily detained at the Pidigan Municipal Police Station awaiting the filing of the appropriate charges against them before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
