BAGUIO CITY – An 18-year old student died while his fellow student was injured after they were stabbed on the different parts of their bodies by still unidentified knife-wielding suspects during a brawl in front of a bank along Upper Magsaysay Avenue, here, Saturday night.
BCPO authorities identified the fatality as Benito Tokoyen 18, single, student at Kings College of the Philippines while the injured student was named as Kevin Te-em Kawiding, 22, single, both residents of Pinsao Pilot Project, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and his companions came from a drinking session in a bar along Lower Gen. Luna road and were on their way to get a taxi that will ferry them home when they noticed a group of male persons shouting at them.
At this juncture, Kevin went back and had a heated argument with the said group that eventually escalated into a fistfight.
At this juncture, some still unidentified individuals joined the brawl with Benito engaging into a fistfight with a still unidentified male person until he backed off.
While the victim ad his companions were walking along Peoples Park, he suddenly collapsed that prompted responding police operatives to rush him to the St. Louis University Hospital of the Saved Heart for medical treatment.
However, the victim died while being treated in the hospital after sustaining two stab wound on his stomach while his companion is still undergoing close medical supervision.
Responding police operatives are still conducting an investigation to ascertain the identities of the suspects behind the brutal killing of the victim.
