TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The new set of officers of the Panlungsod na Pederasyon ng mga SK of Tabuk City took their oath of office before Acting Vice Mayor Dick G. Bal-o immediately after the election held today, November 14, at the Golden Berries Hotel.
Andrea Daphne Amla of Brgy. Naneng was elected as the new SK Federation President in a two-way contest garnering 24 votes and trailing her rival by six votes.
Completing the set of officers are Jury Tabanganay (Vice President), Marion Tombaga (Secretary), Rhyne Pagaypay (Treasurer), Jhermane Dayagon (Auditor), Annie Mury Santiago (Public Relations Officer), and Michael Banao (Sergeant-At-Arms).
The election was overseen by the Board of Election Supervisors chaired by CLGOO Helen Lacuesta with members Tabuk City Election Officer Reyman Solbita, and SP secretary Reynaldo Delgado. Acting Police Chief PLTCOL Jolly Ngaya-an, Mata ng Masa Task Force Provincial Director-Kalinga James Dong-as, and Ferdinand B. Malagyab of the DepEd served as members of the panel of observers.
Lacuesta informed the officers of the roles of the federation including the drafting of the Local Youth Development Plan (LYDP) with Local Youth Development Council and to convene quarterly to ensure the implementation and monitoring of the LYDP and the alignment to it of the Comprehensive Barangay Youth Development Program and Annual Barangay Youth Investment Program.
Acting Mayor Dick G. Bal-o reminded the officers of the public trust and confidence bestowed upon them, stating that as representatives of the youth sector in local government, they must serve with competence in upholding the welfare of the youth sector, particularly since the SK president is set to serve as an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
Before the election proper, a Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon orientation was held with topics including the Legal Basis of the SK Pederasyon, Powers and Functions of SK Pederasyon Officers, Internal Rules and Procedure of the Pederasyon, and SK Pederasyon Election Policies. By Tabuk PIO
