BANGED, Abra February 17 – A 64-year old barangay tanod was injured after he was stabbed on his back thrice by a 19-year old unemployed man while attending a birthday party in the residence of a retired police officer at Calaba South, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the victim as Rodolfo Dumalen Blaza, 64, married Barangay Tanod while the suspect was named as Rene Bayle Barbosa aka koleng, 19, single, unemployed, both residents of barangay Calaba South, Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect, together with some companions, were attending a birthday in the residence of a retired police officer when the victim started teasing the suspect to dance.
After a few moments, the suspect stood up, went to the victim’s back and stabbed him thrice on his neck before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment where he was later confined while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police operatives for him to face the charges to be filed against him.
