FLORA, Apayao – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in partnership with Veaveranda Nature Farm and Training Center Inc. distributed starter toolkits to 15 farmers trained under the Plant Crops Program leading to Agricultural Crop Production NC II.
Congresswoman Leah Bulut-Begtang led the distribution together with the TESDA- Apayao Provincial Director Glen Murphy and other personnel of the agency on November 16, 2023 at Bagutong Flora, Apayao.
The beneficiaries were those enrolled under the Special Training for Employment Program from different barangays of the municipality.
According to TESDA, the tool kits are provided to the farmers along with the completion of their training in an effort to promote sustainable farming practices and empower local communities in the province.
These consist of essential tools, utensils, and materials such as Knapsack sprayer, Surveyor measuring tape (generic), rake(generic), pick mattock (generic), sprinkler (generic) and post hole digger (generic).
The said project is through the initiative of the legislator who has been a staunch supporter in uplifting the economic conditions of families in Apayao through provision of aid or grants to livelihood programs and projects. By PIO Apayao
