The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently held its third National Quality Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) forum to recognize the outstanding Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) and TVET programs being provided in the region.
“The main focus of the star rating system is on the curriculum and program delivery, support services, program management, and program performance measures,” said Engineer Manuel Wong, TESDA-acting regional director.
This year’s National quality TVET forum carried the theme: Driving Quality Assurance in TVET in the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).
He added that the star rating system aims to identify TVIs’ registered programs that have surpassed the minimum requirements of TESDA’s Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System.
He reiterated that the star rating system aims to recognize the accomplishments and improvements the TVIs have instituted in their programs to further enhance their TVET system to deliver quality services to their clients.
Among the 1-star awardees were the Provincial Training Center (PTC) of Ifugao for Carpentry (National Certificate (NC) II, PTC-Kalinga for Driving NC II, PTC Mountain Province for Automotive Servicing NC II, Baguio City School of Arts and Trades for Food and Beverage Services NC II, and Baguio- Regional Training Center (RTC) for CNC Lathe Machine Operation NC II, CNC milling Operation NC II.
