BANGUED, Abra February 03 – A 25-year old tricycle driver was injured after he was hacked by his older driver during a drinking spree at Bacsil, Dangdangla, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the victim as Jomar Paligutan Vasquez, 25 years old, single, tricycle driver while the suspect was his older brother who was named as Joel Paligutan Vasquez, 33 years old, single, butcher and both residents of Brgy. Bascil-Dangdangla, Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect, together with some friends, had a drinking session inside the latter’s house when a heated altercation suddenly erupted between the two siblings.
After a few moments, the suspect went inside his residence and came out armed with a bolo, then he allegedly hacked his younger brother several times hitting him on the different parts of his body.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and brought to the Bangued Municipal Police Station for documentation.
