Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – Two men were imprisoned and charged for possession of illegal drugs by the police after they were arrested separate occasions recently.
Joint operatives of the Baguio City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU-BCPO), BCPO Station 2, and City Intelligence Unit (CIU), in coordination with PDEA-CAR arrested George Lagitaw Del Rosario A.K.A “Anjong Del Rosario”, 35, single, native of San Juan, Metro Manila, in his boarding house at No. 26 East Quirino Hill, Baguio City Monday morning during a buy-bust operation. Del Rosario sold a sachet of suspected shabu to one of the police operatives who acted as a buyer that led to his arrest.
Del Rosario is a newly identified drug suspect reloaded in January this year and is being monitored until his arrest.
Evidence seized during the operation were three heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, (1) One VIVO touchscreen cellphone, cash money amounting to Php500.00, Php19,000.00 boodle money and assorted drug paraphernalia.
On the other hand, Bucay police also arrested a suspected drug offender Tuesday morning, March 26, 2019 at Brgy. San Miguel, Bucay, Abra after an informant relayed an information that suspect is in possession of illegal drugs.
Police flagged down the tricycle where the suspect, identified as Perfecto Paligutan Barbosa Jr. alias Jun-jun, 38, construction worker, a resident of North Poblacion, Bucay, Abra, was on board travelling from Bangued to Bucay, Abra. Immediately, the police authorities conducted search and was able to recover from his possession, one Samsung android with brown jelly case where one (1) heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu was inserted.
It can be recalled that Barbosa previously surrendered to the police way back July 8, 2016 at the outset of the massive campaign against illegal drugs.
Both suspects are now facing charges for violation of RA 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Acts of 2002 filed by the police in court.
