LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 39-year old vegetable trader died after she was allegedly hacked to death by her live-in partner inside their residence at Bayabas, Pico, here, Thursday afternoon.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Evangeline Manggapac Solino 39, single, vegetable trader, a native of Sadsadan, Bauko, Mountain Province while the suspect, who is her live-in partner, was named by the police as a certain Crispin Olowan Bab-ating, 44, utility worker at DPWH-CAR, native of Alab, Bontoc, Mt Province and a resident boarder of IC-167 C, Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim’s lifeless body was discovered by her own daughter and the said incident was immediately reported to the police for investigation.
Probers found the victim lying face down on a prone position while covered in a blanket with multiple hack wounds on the head.
Recovered from the crime scene was a 54-centimeter bolo which was under the victim’s bed.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to elements of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera and he is now detained at the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station awaiting the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
