BONTOC, Mountain Province – Combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents arrested a candidate for punong barangay after having found in his possession some P400,000 worth of shabu and other drug paraphernalia in his residence at barangay Alab, here, recently.
Police Col. Sibly Dawigey, Provincial Director of the Mountain Province Police Office, identified the arrested drug suspect as Alex Pilingan Baltero.
The suspect was arrested following the service of a search warrant in his residence that resulted to the seizure of illegal drugs valued at P390,626.
Also seized from the suspect’s residence were assorted drug paraphernalia and a caliber .9mm pistol with several ammunitions.
The suspect and the recovered pieces of evidence were immediately brought to the Bontoc Municipal Police Station for documentation and preparation of the charges of violation of the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensives Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the New Firearms Regulations Act.
At the same time, combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents were also able to destroy some 17,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a standard drug price of P3.4 million at barangay Saclit, Sadanga, Mountain Province By Dexter A. See
